The Economic Club of Indiana has been hosting luncheons since 2008 with current and emerging leaders in each industry. February's luncheon featured NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. He met with Indianapolis entrepreneurs Steve Simon, and Cathy Langham on Zoom to discuss respective opinions on particular subject matters that he was questioned about. Here's what Mr. Silver vocalized after Thursday's videoconference.
Question: There appeared to be a discord between the league and the National Basketball Players Association regarding the upcoming All-Star game initially being held in Indianapolis next month. How were you, the league, and the NBPA able to deal with the logistics of that affair so smoothly?
Answer: Dear Pranav,
Thanks for your question at the Economic Club of Indiana event. We have a terrific relationship with Michele Roberts, Chris Paul, and the Players Association that is built around mutual trust and respect. While we may not always agree on everything, we find a way to work through issues and the All-Star Game is a great example.
A special thanks to The Economic Club of Indiana for arranging and conducting the videoconference exceptionally. Another special acknowledgment goes to Mr. Adam Silver, who allocated the time to answer my question electronically through Gmail. Make sure to tune into The Economic Club of Indiana's next Virtual Zoom Webinar with Anthem, Inc.'s President and CEO Gail Boudreaux on March 22nd at 12:00 to 1:30 PM Eastern/9:00 to 10:30 AM Pacific.
